Recipe Pizza Calzone
<i>Everyone likes a good pizza. The Neapolitans made pizza famous. Also the folded pizza Calzone. But how do you make it yourself? It's a bit more work than a regular pizza, but well worth it!</i>
Ingredients
Pizza dough
Canned tomatoes
Mozzarella
Ham
Salami
Grated cheese
Onion
Italian herbs
Pepper & Salt
Optional fresh basil
Preparation method:
1. Puree the canned tomatoes and add the salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. If you have opted for the fresh basil, it can also be added here.
2. Turn the pizza base. Make sure the edges are thinner than usual.
3. Spread the pizza sauce on the bottom, making sure to keep the sauce about 1.5 inches from the edge.
4. Sprinkle the grated cheese on the pizza.
5. Add all ingredients such as the ham, salami, onion, and mozzarella.
6. Finally, sprinkle a little pepper on the pizza to season everything.
7. Dab your finger in the pizza sauce and moisten the edges of the pizza a little.
8. Fold the pizza in half (because of the moist edges, the pizza will stick together well).
9. Turn the edges well over each other to make sure that the pizza stays closed.
10. It is important that the pizza stays closed, otherwise it will open during baking in the oven and that is of course not the intention! ;)
11. Bake the pizza at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes
